Bringing Help and Hope – Neighbors Helping Neighbors

St. Vincent de Paul of Waukesha County is a group of lay Catholic volunteers from all walks of life – neighbors helping neighbors right here in Waukesha County whose outreach has no faith boundary. Assistance may include emergency rent, utilities, food, clothing, household goods, referral services and programming to help navigate a path to financial stability. On a person-to-person basis, members offer help, hope, and encouragement to people in need – an ear to listen, a hand in a time of crisis, a hope to guide people toward programs that can bring lasting change to their lives, and mentoring to encourage those on a path to financial stability.             ​​​​​     ​​

New Extreme Winter Weather Warming Center Opens Soon

Our Community Initiatives Director, Jodie LaChapelle, spearheaded the creation of an extreme winter weather warming shelter in Waukesha, bringing the community together to help neighbors facing housing insecurity.  This would not have happened without committed partners like Family Promise of Waukesha County, Hebron Housing Services, City of Waukesha, Hope Center, NAMI Greater Milwaukee, Housing Coalition of Waukesha County, and many others, including an anonymous donor who provided seed money for the warming center.  Check out this story from Fox 6.

St. Vincent de Paul Store Named 2026 Social Enterprise of the Year by the Milwaukee BizTimes

St. Vincent de Paul Waukesha was recognized as the Social Enterprise of the Year by BizTimes Media. We did not receive this award simply for being a successful business. We were recognized as a social enterprise because we reinvest the proceeds from our thrift stores into serving our neighbors—providing direct assistance, offering Getting Ahead financial workshops, supporting the St. Dismas Jail Ministry, helping individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of eviction find a safe place to live, and so much more. This recognition is not about the success of a single year. It reflects the foundation built by past leaders, current and past store managers, and successive Vincentian Presidents and leaders who invested in our stores with the belief that growing our business would allow us to do more good in Waukesha County.
